About This Collection

The Philadelphia NAACP branch, one of the oldest and most active in the nation, played a central role in desegregation campaigns, voter registration drives, and community empowerment throughout the 20th century. These photographs are held by the Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection at Temple University.
